Preheat oven at 275 degrees

2 lbs pea beans
1/4 lb salt pork
2 tablespoons baking soda
1 medium onion
1/2 cup molasses
4 tablespoons brown sugar (rounded)
4 teaspoons dry mustard
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup catsup
Hot water to cover beans

Preparation
Soak beans 8 hours
Scald sal pork with boiling water
Bring beans to boil for 10 minutes
Add 2 tablespoons baking soda
Drain and rinse thoroughly
In bean pot put salt pork, onion (whole)
Add beans, brown sugar, molasses, salt, pepper and catsup
Cook in oven for 8 hours at 275 degrees
