Cream Puffs
Ingredients
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sifted flour
4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
6 tbsp flour
2 cups milk
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Pastry
- Hea to a boiling point in a pan the water and butter
- Stir in sifted flour
- Stir until mixture leaves the sides of the pan and forms a ball (about 1 minute)
- Remove from heat and let cool
- Beat in, 1 at a time, 4 eggs
- Beat until smooth
- Spoon on to an ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake in oven at 400 F for 30 minutes
Filling
- Mix in sauce pan sugar, salt, flour
- Stir in milk, bring to a boil and remove from heat
- Stir a little of this mixture into 2 beaten egs
- Blend into hot mixture in sauce pan and bring to a boil
- Blend in vanilla
Split pastry and fill with the filling
Frost with chocolate frosting
