Caramels
Ingredients
1 Bottle White Karo Syrup
2 Can Condensed Milk
1 Cup Sugar
¼ lb Margarine
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nuts (optional)
Preparation
- Stir White Karo Syrup, condensed milk, sugar, margarine and salt together in a large sauce pan over low heat until completely melted.
- When it starts to boil raise the heat and boil for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally from the bottom and sides at 250 degrees on a candy thermometer.
- Add vanilla and nuts (optional)
- Pour into a well buttered pan and let sit for awhile
- Cut into squares before it hardens too much and wrap individually in wax paper
